Advancing Geriatric Care in Florida Since 1989

THE DAVID T. LOWENTHAL FOUNDER'S AWARD

In October of 1989, David T. Lowenthal, MD, PhD, a Geriatrician at the University of Florida founded the Florida Geriatrics Society on the simple idea of bringing like-minded healthcare professionals with an interest in caring for the elderly together to share, network, and learn from each other. Today the FGS continues to bring geriatric-focused healthcare providers together to share, network, and learn from one another. Each year in honor of our Founder, Dr. David T. Lowenthal the Florida Geriatrics Society presents the Dr. David T. Lowenthal Founder’s Poster Session Award in Geriatrics to the author whose abstract has been judged to best exemplify excellence within a topic area pertinent to geriatric care.
